Today is National Quilting Day! I am celebrating in style by teaching a class and then quilting in the afternoon. If anyone is local to Sussex, there are a bunch of quilters at Hobby Craft at the Garden Centre in Rustington from 10 – 2 and you can drop and and say hello to them.
To celebrate, I am posting my favourite placemats I made for my daughter-in-law.
I have just posted my Spring/Summer course list on The Sewing Directory as well as under my Workshop page if you are interested. Someday soon, I will post a tutorial for making something – possibly making an applique using Charlotte’s Fusible Thread. We made some Sunbonnet Sue’s the other week using it. Most of us were quite pleased with the result, although some preferred using normal fusible or Steam-a-Seam I think. Some of them were new to applique altogether, so were very pleased and excited by the result. I will take a picture of mine today and post it with this. We hope to make a Linus quilt with it soon.
I wonder how you all are celebrating National Quilting Day – if you go to The Quilt Show, they are showing free videos from today – Friday through to Sunday. Take advantage of it.
Am busy putting my courses on the blog so will leave you now.
